In 2019, Ability was founded and consisted of just one person - our founder, Jessie Baker. The subsequent onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic presented an opportunity to lean into the community's needs when faced with unprecedented challenges that the pandemic represented. These early days of Ability only demonstrated the importance of client-centred and flexible models of service delivery. Over the subsequent years, we saw the traditional model of psychology services evolve in many ways with an increase to telehealth services and the expansion of initiatives, such as increased access to the Medicare and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) which has allowed for more flexible and accessible services within respective scopes. Collectively, this provided an opportunity to not only establish and grow Ability from an idea to a service - but to also rethink former models of offering support which highlighted the benefits of an outreach service model. Ultimately, this is what led our founder to establish Ability Psychology Services and to grow this into what it is today - a community-centred, mobile psychology practice that supports the local communities of the areas we work within.
Since our founding in 2019, Ability Psychology Services has been dedicated to providing evidence-based, accessible psychology services across Australia. Each member of our team brings their own training, experience and skills to our practise, and is committed to providing compassionate care to our clients. Our team works with individuals and families across the lifespan, and is able to provide support for a broad range of presentations and conditions. Our team provides psychological and educational services to individuals, third party providers, schools and organisations across Australia. We offer a range of in-clinic, outreach (in-home/on-site), and online services to meet our clients where they are at and to provide a sense of welcoming and professional support to our clients. Please contact us for more information.

Dr Rachel is a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Dr Rachel has obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology preceded by a Bachelor's degree in Behavioural Science with Honours in Psychology. Dr Rachel is a Board-Approved Supervisor (STAP) with the Psychology Board of Australia. Dr Rachel oversees our national clinical service delivery and provides support and supervision to our team. Dr Rachel appreciates that the process of engaging in psychology services may be a little daunting and that finding a psychologist that a person feels comfortable with, and are able to form a strong working relationship with, is so important. This in mind, Dr Rachel equips our team to be diverse, flexible and evidence-based in their clinical approach to client work. Our clinical team believes that a person is the expert in their own life and that a person and their psychologist will see the best results when they combine their collective knowledge. That by listening to a person's past experiences, a psychologist can offer techniques that resonate with their client. Collectively, our clinical team work together to provide the quality and efficacy of services provided by The Ability Health Group.
